2018 Veterans Day Events

To commemorate Veterans Day, groups and organizations around the Tampa Bay region are honoring those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, as well as active-duty service members.

Here’s a list of local events, with national events listed at the bottom:

Friday, Nov. 9 - Sunday, Nov. 11

Sylvan Ramble Lights-Veterans Day Light Show- 8:30 p.m.- 8:50 p.m.-  For this free 3 night event, see red, white and blue lights dance to music at Sylvan Ramble Lights. 4412 West Sylvan Ramble St. Tampa.

Monday, Nov. 12

Veterans Day at Idea Lab Kids- 9 a.m.- 6 p.m.- Idea Lab Kids will hold a “No School Day Camp,” with STEM activities planned for children ages 3-13. This class is $60 for the whole day. Idea Lab Kids North Tampa, 3325 W. Bearss Ave. Tampa.

National Events:

Sunday, Nov. 11

National Veterans Day Ceremony- 11 a.m.-  The ceremony, at Arlington National Cemetery, includes a wreath laying at the Tomb of the Unknowns and continues inside the Memorial Amphitheater with a parade of colors by veterans' organizations and remarks from dignitaries.
