With allegations going back to Weinstein’s early years, the film examines the elaborate ways he and those around him tried to silence his accusers.Harvey Weinstein was once one of the most successful producers in Hollywood. But beneath the glitz and glamour, there was a pattern of sexual misconduct going back to the very start of his career. FRONTLINE investigates the disgraced mogul’s spectacular downfall, the efforts to silence his accusers, and what Hollywood itself knew.Drawing on exclusive insider accounts, Weinstein, a one-hour special co-produced with the BBC, examines how Weinstein used lawyers and private detectives to help him suppress sexual harassment allegations. The film shines new light on what those around Weinstein knew about his behavior, and when.The film traces Weinstein’s alleged predatory behavior all the way back to his very first movie, drawing on interviews with former executives at both Miramax and The Weinstein Company, a former assistant, and some of his accusers — including a woman who worked with Weinstein on his first film and is speaking out for the first time. Using these firsthand accounts, Weinstein shows how the mogul successfully used non-disclosure agreements over the years to settle sexual harassment allegations — and examines how he hired private intelligence firms to investigate both his accusers, journalists and actors who might pose a threat to him.

Mia Laurenzo is a 30-year veteran of public television in Miami. She began her career learning every aspect of video production. Currently she is a writer, producer, on-air host and promotions coordinator for TV, radio and the web. Her experiences include producing for a series, special events and historical documentaries. As a native Floridian, she is a perfect fit for South Florida's Storyteller Station, WLRN. She has produced award winning, nationally distributed documentaries like Journey to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade where one year she followed a high school band and a clown as they prepared for the big day and the next year, she had the privilege of being a clown herself. Previously, she produced Weird Florida: On the Road Again, a sequel to the highly successful show Weird Florida: Roads Less Traveled, where the cast and crew travel over 1,500 miles searching the Sunshine State’s weirdest and wackiest places. On a more serious note and what she considers to be her most important work, she produced Out of Darkness, Into Light, a documentary on child sexual abuse,which delved into the lives of three adult survivors, a show in which she was awarded her first of two Emmys.
