www.pbs.org/wgbh/americanexperience/

In light of the premiere of a new PBS documentary, which details one man’s desire to drain the Florida Everglades, the question has been posed - should man touch the river of grass? “The Swamp: Nature Never Surrenders” is an American Experience film based in part on the 2007 book “The Swamp: The Everglades, Florida, and the Politics of Paradise.” Journalist and author of “The Swamp,”Michael Grunwald, joins us to discuss man’s destructive contribution to the Florida Everglades, and the attempt to repair it. We’re also joined by environmental biologistsDr. Serge ThomasandDr. Eric Milbrandtto discuss the documentary and that current state of the Everglades environment. Dr. Thomas is an assistant professor of environmental sciences at Florida Gulf Coast University. Dr. Milbrandt,Marine Laboratory Director at the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation, is a graduate faculty member at FGCU.
