A shooting suspect has been detained after a three hour standoff at a Tallahassee student apartment complex.
Update: 5:42 pm: 21-year-old Benjamin Mallory is under arrest and charged with the shooting that occurred Wednesday at the Osceola student housing complex at 500 Chapel Drive. According to a statement by the Tallahassee Police Department, Mallory is charged with Discharging a Firearm or Missile into an Occupied Dwelling, and Attempted Armed Burglary of an Occupied Dwelling. Mr. Mallory is currently in the Leon County Detention Facility.

Original Story: A person of interest has been captured for a shooting at the student apartments called, The Osceola. The incident began around 8 a.m.
The Tallahassee Police Department responded to a call regarding a person trying to gain entry into the victim’s residence by shooting a gun at the door. The suspect wasn’t able to get in, but instead barricaded themselves in a nearby apartment.
TPD’s Tactical Apprehension and Control Team was called onto the scene to clear the area and capture the suspect. No names have been released and it is unknown if the victim or suspect know each other. Residents were allowed to return to their homes.
