The Senate passed a bill filed by Sen. Travis Hutson, R-St. Augustine, that shortens the time for residents to sue over construction defects.

The proposed impact fee would raise money for developments such as roads, fire stations and sheriff’s offices.

A Northeast Florida Builders Association leader says that while numbers are lower, they still are strong.
