If you filled up the car over the weekend, you may have had a bit of sticker shock.

Florida gas prices went up an average of 13 cents over a three day period last week and plateaued over the weekend, according to AAA.

The good news is Jacksonville had some of the lowest prices around the state:

Top 3 Most Expensive Areas

  • West Palm Beach-Boca Raton: $2.64
  • Miami: $2.59
  • Homosassa Springs: $2.59

Top 3 Least Expensive Areas

  • Pensacola: $2.46
  • Tallahassee: $2.48
  • Jacksonville: $2.49

"Analysts warn that oil prices could be somewhat volatile this week, as the consolidation of power in Saudi Arabia leaves speculators questioning the impacts on global oil supply,"  said Mark Jenkins, spokesman, AAA - The Auto Club Group.
Declining U.S. rig counts, lower domestic oil inventories and an oil production cut extension triggered the sharp increase, according to AAA.
