An online petition drive to make one mile of Jacksonville Beach clothing optional is chugging right along.According to 19-year-old Angela Anderson, 1,500 people have signed the Change.org petition since she started her nude-beach campaign a month ago.  And this weekend’s photo shoot is expected to generate even more support.

Although, Anderson says, it was easier to find people willing to pose for the camera than it was to find a location.

"It’s out of the way a little bit because it was hard to find someone with a big enough yard and on private land where we could do this legally," she said. "We’re not trying to do this illegally. And it’s just going to be to promote the petition, to gain more media coverage and to get the word out and get people talking about this.  And to definitely show them the nudists that so many people are afraid of.”

Anderson says the photos will be posted on the "Nudement" Facebook page.

As for when she plans to deliver her petition to Jacksonville Beach city officials, Anderson says that’s yet to be decided.
