People who live near Naval Air Station Jacksonville and Whitehouse Naval Airstrip may notice increased noise in their neighborhoods over the next three weeks. The Navy is planning training exercises in the region.

Carrier-based fighter jets will be landing and taking off from the Jacksonville airfields starting Thursday until  February 4th as part of training for the USS Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group.

The Norfolk, Virginia-based aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt and its support ships make up the strike group. The ships will be conducting training scenarios that simulate real-world situations the group could encounter during deployment.

Naval Outlying Field Whitehouse is located north of Highway 90 on the Westside. The Navy is planning daytime and nighttime landing practice there and at NAS Jax.
