Weavers Donate Multi-Million Dollar Mansion To Community Foundation

Nationally recognized philanthropists and former Jacksonville Jaguars owners Wayne Weaver and Delores Barr Weaver have donated their $4.7 million Lakewood mansion to support the local nonprofit community. The Community Foundation for Northeast Florida will sell the 14,000-square-foot riverfront home, with proceeds from the sale going to the foundation's Weaver Family Foundation Fund. The fund is used to provide grants to local nonprofits.

“This is a truly wonderful – and touching – example of the tremendous generosity of the Weavers," said Nina Waters, president of the foundation, in a statement.

Waters said the sale highlights the Weavers' commitment to use their wealth as a "force multiplier" to benefit the region.

The Weavers will also establish a $1 million endowed donor-advised fund at the foundation in the names of the buyers who purchase the property at the $4.7 million offered price.

The home sits on a wooded estate of about four acres with 243 feet of frontage along the St. Johns River in the San Jose/Lakewood area. It features a grand, two-story foyer with Italian marble, six bedrooms, six full baths, three powder rooms and a wooden walkway that leads to a boat dock and gazebo.

The home is being offered through Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty. Complete details of the donation and the advised fund can be found at JaxCF.org.
