Weekend Warriors is back to provide insight on things to be seen, heard and even tasted this coming weekend. This week we’ve got a little something for everyone. Enjoy!  

 Beauty & the Beast

Disney’s Beauty & the Beast will capture your heart all over again at the Alhambra Theater, 12000 Beach Boulevard. Live performances run through July 31, including five shows this weekend. Show times are 7:30 p.m. Friday; 1:15 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday; and 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Purchase a ticket for dinner and a show and enjoy a three course meal before the curtains open. Night at the Zoo

TheJacksonville Zoo unveils their all new event Friday: Night at the Zoo. Beginning at 6:30 p.m., guests can enjoy live music, a movie on Shaba Terrace and food trucks. The animal exhibits will remain open until 8:30 p.m. Enjoy animal encounters, bounce houses and discussions with zoo keepers until 10 p.m. Admission for members is $5 for adults and $3 for children. Admission for non-members is $10 each adult and $5 each child. Destination: DINO and Stingray Bay are free with admission.

Food Truck Wars

Bring your appetite and taste buds this Saturday, as Food Truck Wars takes over the Jacksonville Landing. This event takes place in different cities across the state and offers some friendly competition to members of the food truck business. Contestants compete in six different categories, including the People’s Choice Award, which allows those attending to get in on the judging. The event runs from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 2 Independent Drive. Partial proceeds are given back to the community, so come out and get your inner foodie on.

Garden Concert: Americana

The third-annual Americana concert at the Cummer Museum is 7 p.m. Saturday. Guests can bring chairs, beverages, even a full picnic if they choose — or let the Cummer Cafe cater the evening for you. Tickets for a night of music under the stars are $20 for members or $25 for non-members.

 

Green Hands Sustainability Soiree

This free, educational event will highlight North Florida’s most valuable resources while educating members of our community how to conserve and protect the enviroment. Guests will enjoy live music by Jacksonville's Chelsea Saddler, a wine and cheese tasting, a screening of the documentary “Tapped,” and much more. The event will be held from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall, 1050 A1A North.
