IQ Fiber, a Jacksonville company, plans to install a high-speed fiber-optic network in San Marco.

San Marco will be the next area to get super-fast internet service in Greater Jacksonville.

IQ Fiber, a Jacksonville company, announced Tuesday that it plans a 10-gigabit fiber-optic network in San Marco as its second installation in the metro area. IQ Fiber announced a project in Atlantic Beach two weeks ago.

The project is intended to meet increasing demand for fast internet service, IQ Fiber says. Average broadband usage is increasing over 25% per year in the U.S., the company said in a news release.

IQ Fiber did not announce costs for the service but said month-to-month plans will have no hidden fees or data caps.

The company eventually plans to spread its fiber-optic network across Clay, Duval, Nassau and St. Johns counties.
