Crowds Pack Into One Spark On Opening Day

Kevin Meerschaert

The One Spark Festival kicked off Wednesday to big crowds and enthusiastic support.

One Spark Executive Director Elton Rivas says the time has never been better for such an event, and that it will continue in the coming years.

Attendees are encouraged to register online at One Spark's website, then check in at the event to validate your account.

You can then vote on which projects you like best, which will be awarded part of the $250,000 crowdfund based on the amount of support a project gets.

You can also make personal contributions to projects as well.

The projects that receive the most votes will be revealed Sunday afternoon.

You can find more information about the festival on One Spark and the City of Jacksonville’s sites.

Kevin Meerschaert has left WJCT for new pursuits. He was the producer of First Coast Connect until October of 2018.
