No Plans? No Problem! Things To Do This Weekend On The First Coast

Music, theater, film, dance and comedy. It's all happening this weekend on the First Coast.Thursday, January 9 - Sunday, Jan. 11 — Ralphie May, best known for Last Comic Standing, he has also appeared on Jimmy Kimmel, Tough Crowd and Jay Leno, where he received a standing ovation, the first comedian in 10 years to receive this honor. He'll be at the Jacksonville Comedy Zone for six shows starting tonight. More info at ComedyZone.com.

Sunday, January 11 - Monday, Jan. 27 — Sun-Ray Cinema presents Mostly Napping: The Films of the Coen Brothers. The month long look at the writing and directing duo includes screenings including   Hudsucker Proxy  ,  Fargo ,  No C ountry for Old Men , Blood Simple, and daily showings of their most recent release, Inside Llewyn Davis. The series begins with a screening of The Big Lebowski on Sunday at 4:20 p.m. (man!).

Friday, January 9 - Saturday, Feb. 8 — A cast of six women pays tribute to the jukebox favorites of the 1960s, from great girl groups like the Chiffons and the Supremes, to superstar powerhouses Janis Joplin, Tina Turner, and Aretha Franklin in the Player's by the Sea production of Beehive: The 60's Musical. Saturday, January 10 — Direct from Russia comes The Rudolf Nureyev State Ballet Theatre’s production of Tchaikovsky’s Sleeping Beauty! This company of 60 distinguished dancers has showcased the unparalleled art of Russian ballet to countries throughout the world. Saturday at 8 p.m. at Times-Union Center.
