TEDxJacksonville To Stream Live On YouTube

You won’t need a ticket to watch next month’s TEDxJacksonville talks. The day-long conference will be streamed via the TEDx Talks YouTube channel.

TEDxJacksonville Executive Producer Sabeen Perwaiz says it’s a first for everyone involved.

“YouTube actually has not done this before either. They’ve been trying to get their platform ready, so it’s going to be a pilot,” Perwaiz said. “And because we are taking place in a month, that’s actually perfect timing for them to test it out, see what needs improvement and, hopefully, launch full-scale next year.”

The TEDx Talks YouTube Channel has 2.8 million subscribers. The organization also plans to host a pair of live stream watch parties at public libraries in Arlington and on the Westside.

The annual TEDxJacksonville conference is Saturday, October 24th in the studios of WJCT Public Broadcasting.

“Reveal” host Al Letson and the Cummer Museum’s Hope McMath are this year’s hosts.

Cyd Hoskinson began working at WJCT on Valentine’s Day 2011.
