If you’ve ever wondered how much stuff you can buy with $100, the answer is “it depends.”
According to the Tax Foundation’s annual cost-of-living survey $100 in Florida is worth $101.21 in terms of spending power.
To get the biggest bang for your buck, go to Mississippi which the survey found is the cheapest state. There, your hundred dollars is worth $115.21.
Your money is worth the least in the Washington D.C. area where a hundred dollars is equal to just $84.96. In other words, it would take you 36 percent more money in Washington D.C. to achieve the same standard of living you would have in Mississippi.
