Members of the partnership that founded Jacksonville’s Burrito Gallery restaurants are tied up in a legal battle over rights to the name.
The fight could end up shutting down Burrito Gallery Express, the Jacksonville Beach spin-off of the popular downtown eatery.
The “Express” location was founded by some of the people involved in founding the main location. When the beaches shop opened, the operators licensed the name from original store.
Now, the group behind the original store and a new one in Brooklyn says the Beaches location isn’t abiding by the terms of the licensing agreement.
It’s asking the courts to stop Burrito Gallery Express from using the name and serving Burrito Gallery menu items.
