An interactive map from WNYC's The Takeaway has color-coded Jacksonville's neighborhoods based on median household income.
The map shows one tract in the city’s urban core with a median income of $11,499, the lowest in the city.
The surrounding neighborhoods make between $15,000 and $39,000 per household, with pockets of wealth on the beaches and Intracoastal areas.
Here's an interview with Dante Chinni, director of the American Communities Project at American University from today's edition of The Takeaway:
The Takeaway airs Monday-Thursday at 2 p.m. on WJCT.
