After Three Weeks With No Power, Riverwalk Condos Resemble Ghost Town

The Berkman Plaza Townhomes on the Northbank were still looking a bit like a ghost town Friday afternoon.

The small condominium complex has been without power since a portion of South Liberty Street between Bay Street and Coastline Drive fell into the St. Johns River three weeks ago.

Electricians spent the past week installing a replacement transformer that had to be delivered to the site by  a helicopter.

Mayor’s Office Communications Director David DeCamp says the work is proceeding on schedule and that power should be restored by Thursday, February 26, as promised.

An investigation into the cause of the collapse is being conducted by the Florida Department of Transportation.
