Jax Beach's TacoLu Restaurant To Appear On Travel Channel Show 'Food Paradise'

The popular Jacksonville Beach restaurant TacoLu will be featured on national TV—and diners could get their own shot at television fame Thursday evening.

A Travel Channel crew is there, shooting an upcoming episode of the show “Food Paradise.” It's a show that tours "all the must-stop food spots across the country that offer a one-of-a-kind dining experience," according to its website.

On Thursday afternoon, customers were forewarned a TV shoot was in progress.

“There’s a poster on the door that says, ‘If you don’t want to be on camera, you don’t want to come in,” says TacoLu co-owner Don Nicol. He says word of the Travel Channel shoot has made it a busy day for his servers—and that’s saying something for the restaurant that often has an hour-long wait and offers valet parking to accommodate the constant overflow.

“It’s been a kind of a blaze of glory,” Nicol says.

Chefs started at 6 a.m. Thursday cooking two items that will be featured on the show. Producers also interviewed customers. All of it will be on a yet-to-be-announced “Food Paradise”episode.

For taco fans hoping to get some screen time, the Travel Channel crew plans to continue filming inside TacoLu until 8 p.m. Thursday.

TacoLu is located at 1712 Beach Boulevard in Jacksonville Beach.
