Around 70 "creators" have signed up to compete in next month’s much shorter Jacksonville One Spark Festival.
The projects will compete for eyes, investment and customers for one day in early April.
Less than half of the 190 creators who applied received invitations to this year’s One Spark, and 66 accepted out of the 70 invited.
They include Agrowbot Trays, which allow people to grow “leafy greens” in any kind of condition; Digitz, which gives people the ability to purchase using thumb prints; and the Double Doggie, a special leash handle for walking two dogs at once.
The festival’s future was in doubt a few months ago when its full-time employees were laid off and CEO Elton Rivas resigned. Eventually, though, One Spark reformed under a new corporation and found a new partner, Downtown Art Walk.
The so-called “Spark Walk” is Wednesday, April 6. The full list of creators is here.
