‘Hill-O-Ween’ Party This Weekend In Murray Hill Neighborhood

Murray Hill Preservation Association

The Jacksonville neighborhood of Murray Hill is throwing a big Halloween party Sunday called Hill-O-Ween offering activities for adults and kids.

President of Murray Hill Preservation Association Jason Tetlak said the organization was looking to create signature event for the neighborhood.

“A Halloween theme just fits perfectly with the feeling and the identity we are trying to create here in Murray Hill,” he said.

Edgewood Avenue will be blocked off between Post and Kerle Streets for the event and Four local bands will be performing.

“We’ll have a little beer garden with food and drinks and live music and a lot of businesses in Murray Hill are going to be hosting individual activities,” Tetlak said.

One business will host a bobbing for apples area, another will have people telling ghost stories.

At 7 p.m. people will be able to watch a a Halloween parade.

“There’s a couple of big parade puppets, a giant spider, a big skeleton,” Tetlak  said.

He said there will be Star Wars stormtroopers marching and a big group of Harry Potter characters.

Attendees are encouraged to dress up. There’s a costume contest with cash prizes.

The party is from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.  Sunday Oct. 29th.
