Halloween brings tricks, treats and horror films — but it turns out one famous villain decided to settle down in the Sunshine State.
The actor who played Jason Voorhees in the 1981 film Friday the 13th Part 2 lives in Palm Beach Gardens. During the week, you'll find Steve Dash either golfing or driving a cab in West Palm Beach.
Dash was Jason before the famous hockey mask. He wore a bag over his head, with only an eye visible.He said he had to use tape to keep the one eye-hole in place.
Now Dash uses his famous past to make for an exciting ride in his cab. He says he meets lots of fans, and is honored when they ask for his autograph. (WPBF)
ONLY IN FLORIDA do people win the lottery twice, in as many years, with tickets bought from the same convenience store.
James Bozeman Jr. won the jackpot for the Florida Lotto again this week. Lottery officials said Bozeman won $3 million from the Aug. 31 drawing with a ticket he bought at an Edgewood 7-Eleven.
Just last year, Bozeman won a $10 million prize from the Florida Lotto with a ticket from the same store.
He chose to take his winnings in payments of $100,000 over the next 30 years.
Bozeman said he started using different numbers after that win and looks forward to winning with a third set of numbers. (CBS News)
ONLY IN FLORIDA do culinary students set a world record for the world’s largest chocolate mousse!
This happened at the Aventura Mall's annual Chocolate Festival on October 6. Two chefs, along with culinary students, endured five hours of non-stop pastry preparation to create the mousse that weighed in at 496 pounds.
The previous record of 313 pounds was set in France in 2010. (Orlando Sentinel)
