Things got interesting this week in the Jacksonville mayor’s race.Former Florida Republican Party chair Lenny Curry filed Tuesday morning to run for the office. Should he win the primary, he’ll be a well-financed candidate against incumbent Democratic Mayor Alvin Brown.
Curry has the backing of GOP fundraiser Peter Rummell, who famously backed Brown in his first election, but has now switched sides.
However, Mayor Brown has a hefty campaign war chest and strong approval ratings.
