The public face of the campaign to legalize medical marijuana in Florida is currently traveling across the state to urge voters to pass Amendment 2 in November.
Central Florida attorney John Morgan made an appearance on the UNF campus Wednesday to discuss why he has aligned with United for Care, an advocacy group pushing for medical marijuana legalization, and has spent $4 million of his own money to back the initiative.
Morgan told the crowd that he has seen the benefits marijuana can have on the sick from witnessing his father and brother go through serious health issues. He also debated the amendment with Jacksonville Sheriff John Rutherford, who was in attendance.
The First Coast Tiger Bay Club will host Morgan at a event in downtown Jacksonville Friday.
John Morgan joined Melissa Ross to discuss the campaign to legalize medical marijuana as election day draws closer.
