09/22/15: Arlington Expressway; St. Augustine 450th Commemoration; Daniel Kids

The North Florida Transportation Planning Organization presented plans for updating the Arlington Expressway Corridor to meet the community's changing demands. The group proposed turning the expressway into a bike and pedestrian friendly urban boulevard that could also one day feature a light rail system. We discuss this plan and other transportation issues with Jeff Sheffield, executive director of the North Florida TPO.

In the final installment of our America's First City series, we look back on the events marking St. Augustine's 450th with Dana Ste.Claire, director of the 450th Commemoration, and Loran Lueders, City of St. Augustine police chief and director of Celebrate 450.

This week the Daniel Kids Foundation will celebrate their 130th year on the First Coast. The oldest nonprofit in Jacksonville, Daniel works to serve local children who have been abandoned, abused or neglected. Warren Caterson, chief development director with Daniel, joins us.
