Presidential Candidates' Communication Skills

How does a presidential candidates speaking style affect your perception of his or her abilities?

Record numbers of viewers are tuning in to debates to see what the candidates have to say and maybe not even realizing how much they’re judging the way those candidates say it.

Mark Vickers is a certified speaking coach whose day job is helping business executives communicate more effectively. He joins us to evaluate the remaining six presidential candidates' speaking styles.

Heroin on the First Coast

We speak with Dr. Kelly Wells, director of the Florida Department of Health in Duval County, about the increase of heroin-related deaths in Jacksonville over the last year and what is being done to address it.

Women's Conference of Florida

Registration is now open for a new statewide conference that will raise awareness of timely issues for women, both at work and at home such as leadership, mentorship and social change. The Women’s Conference of Florida will be held in May in Tampa. Arlene DiBenigno, president and CEO of the conference, joins us with a preview.

Guiding Success

The local organization Guiding Success aims to provide high quality early childhood music education to every four-year-old preschool student in Duval County. We speak with founder Richard Cuff, director of the Florida League of Orchestras, about their efforts.

Sean Birch joined the WJCT team in late 2011 and was with the company until 2016.
