Media Roundtable Week in Review
We discuss the week's biggest news stories with our roundtable of local journalists: Dan Scanlan of the Florida Times-Union; Fred Matthews, writer at the Examiner; and A.G. Gancarski of Florida Politics.
Topics include the end of the spigot for the Palmetto Pipeline, new standards for Jacksonville Sheriff's Office and abortion.
Only in Florida
Since it’s April Fool’s Day, we want you figure out which story is not true and is in fact an April Fool’s joke:
A) Governor Rick Scott told Yale, up in New Haven Connecticut, to relocate here to Florida.
B) "Star Trek" icon William Shatner was hit with a $170 million lawsuit last week from a Florida man claiming to be his son.
C) The lawyer representing Donald Trump’s troubled campaign manager is a guy who likes to bite strippers.
'The Wiz'
"The Wiz: The Super Soul Musical" is onstage now at the Alhambra Theatre.
Cast members of the infectious, funky, soul score are in the studio. Charlie Smalls brings renewed relevance to a timeless classic with his lyrics.
The 1975 Broadway production won seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical and Best Score.
