Cancer Vaccine

At the end of 2015, more than 40,000 women had died from breast cancer in the US, hard to believe considering the mortality rate has decreased 34 percent since 1990.

That decline is attributed to better technology, including early breast cancer detection.

Another promising area of medical research involves a cancer vaccine.

A Jacksonville-based firm is partnering with the city’s Mayo Clinic for a Phase Two trial of its cancer vaccine.

We speak with Dr. Glynn Wilson, CEO of TapImmune, about their efforts.

Theatre on a Mission

The Jacksonville group Theatre On a Mission is comprised of college and high school students that have a passion for taking the art of performing into developing and improvised countries.

They work mainly in orphanages and schools by bringing theatre camps to the children.

The group is taking their third trip to Kenya in July.

Cast members Chelsey Cain, Danielle Glenn and Jackie Jones join us.

Cole Pepper

We speak with WJCT News sports analyst Cole Pepper about the 2016 US Open, the NBA Finals, and other sports news.

Sean Birch joined the WJCT team in late 2011 and was with the company until 2016.
