CEO of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida Paul Martinez spoke about Saturday’s inaugural Collard Green Festival at the organization’s Woodland Acres Club Farm, and Museum of Science and History Executive Director Maria Hane told us about Saturday’s MOSH Bash, celebrating the museum’s 75th anniversary.
Media Roundtable
The panel discussed President-elect Donald Trump’s transition team and those who have been reported to be under consideration. They also talked about possible changes being considered for Metropolitan Park and the Shipyards in downtown Jacksonville.
Collard Green Festival
Collard greens have long been a staple in Southern homes, and just in time for Thanksgiving. Guests can pick their own fresh collard greens from the farm this weekend at the city’s first-ever Collard Green Festival.
The Boys and Girls club will host its Collard Green Festival from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the organization’s Woodland Acres Club Farm, at 191 Pecan Street near Arlington Road.
Nearly 8,000 collard greens have been planted with a purpose to bring the community together in the name the festival.
MOSH Bash
Jacksonville’s Museum of Science and History is celebrating its 75th anniversary and they’re having a big bash Saturday to mark the occasion.
Hane said it’s a party that will mix science with fun. The party will take place all around the museum and on it’s roof.
