Friday on First Coast Connect our weekly media roundtable included Sebastian Kitchen from the Florida Times-Union, Folio Weekly editor Claire Goforth, WJCT business analyst John Burr and WJCT reporter Ryan Benk.

Congaree and Penn farm owner Scott Meyer told us about Sunday’s Christmas at Congaree event on the farm and Jacksonville singer-songwriter Stacey Bennett from the band Folk Is People talked about their new album and some upcoming concerts. 

         

Media Roundtable

The panel discussed the the Shipyards and Metropolitan Park properties in downtown Jacksonville, a report by the Institute for Women’s Policy Research giving Florida poor marks on the status of women and the latest news about the El Faro tragedy.     

Christmas at Congaree

With more than two dozen small businesses on hand, featuring hayrides, Santa Claus, and mini workshops, the flourishing local farm Congaree and Penn is opening their gates for a free holiday event.

It’s Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. The farm is located at 11830 Old Kings Road in Jacksonville. 

Stacey Bennett

Bennett talked about the band’s new album “The Devil Always Comes” and their upcoming performances, including Saturday at the Riverside Arts Market and Christmas night at Jack Rabbits at 1528 Hendricks Ave.
