Gabriel House of Care Symposium
It’s a chance to learn about living well, everything from mindfulness to acupuncture and more.
The Gabriel House of Care Living Well Symposium is 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 27. It features a panel discussion with experts from Mayo Clinic, Brooks Rehabilitation and UF Health.
Larry Baker
Author Larry Baker might live in Iowa, but his fictional home is definitely Florida. Four of Baker’s six novels are set in the Jacksonville/St. Augustine area.
To mark the 20th anniversary of the publication of his first Florida novel, “The Flamingo Rising,” Baker returns to North Florida this weekend to do four public events in three days. He’ll be giving a talk at St. Johns Technical High School on Sept. 22. He’ll then appear at the Florida Heritage Book Festival at Flagler College at 9 a.m. on Sept 23, followed by an appearance at the Corazon Theatre at 4 p.m. for a screening of the movie version of “The Flamingo Rising,” along with a talk with audience members.
At 2 p.m. on Sept. 24, he’ll appear at the Downtown Jacksonville Library.
