Delaney and McAfee
Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer will be on campus Jan. 22 discussing the international role of the high court.
It’s the latest in a long line of accomplishments at the University of North Florida under the tenure of President John Delaney. Many very notable figures from around the world have spoken on the UNF campus in collaboration with the World Affairs Council.
Delaney, also a former mayor, is stepping down from his role at the university this year after a highly successful tenure there.
UNF student diversity is up 63-percent since Delaney’s 2003 arrival and overall enrollment has increased 14 percent.
Florida Forum Speaker Series
For 25 years The Florida Forum has brought in a great variety of speakers to benefit Wolfson Children’s Hospital.
Former speakers have ranged from Henry Kissinger and Cokie Roberts to Jay Leno and James Earl Jones. The final two Forums for the season are Chicago Cubs president Theo Epstein on Jan. 16 and former ambassador Caroline Kennedy on March 5.
Dalton Cyr, 17, has a lot going for him of late.
He has been showing his music film “Breathe” to teen audiences and organizations and then speaking to them about the dangers of distracted driving.
The film has won numerous awards at film festivals around the country. He’s been recording his latest album with major producer Mikal Blue.
