Our panel discussed the possibility of the city’s privatizing JEA and the reaction so far from the public and City Council members,as well as a new initiative to pull children in Jacksonville and other cities out of poverty, and Visit Jacksonville’s new slogan and ad campaign “Jax: It’s easier here.”

STEM and Health Expo
A free kids’ event featuring dozens of hands-on activities in science, tech, engineering and math is happening at the River City Science Academy this weekend. It’s the school’s sixth annual STEM and Health Expo, from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the campus on Beach Boulevard.
Throughout the day, River City Science Academy teachers and students will demonstrate large-scale experiments that pop, grow, explode and entertain. Guests of all ages are welcome.
