2/16/2018: Media Roundtable; Pat Geraghty
Friday on First Coast Connect our weekly Media Roundtable featured Florida Times-Union reporter Tessa Duvall, contributor Fred Matthews, WJCT Business Analyst John Burr and Beaches Leader columnist Jon McGowan (01:21).
Florida Blue and Guidewell CEO Pat Geraghty talked about grief counseling they are making available to anyone in the wake of the Parkland shooting and his recent trip to the World Economic Forum and Davos (46:00).
Our panel discussed reaction to the mass school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, including its renewal of debate over gun control and mental health care. They also talked about the dust up this week between Mayor Lenny Curry and City Council President Anna Lopez Brosche and the news the Jaguars will be removing the tarps at Everbank Field for the upcoming season.
In the wake of the deadly school shooting in South Florida, Florida Blue along with New Directions Behavioral Health, is providing a grief counseling line at 800-843-6514 to all Floridians at no cost. Counselors are available 24/7 and in English and Spanish. Callers do not need to be Florida Blue members.
Geraghty has returned from his annual trek to the World Economic Forum and Davos, where his profile at this event continues to grow.
This year Geraghty served as moderator of an invitation-only event for world health leaders titled, “Shaping the Future of Health: Meeting of the Stewards Board of Health and Healthcare.”
