Last week we learned that the Baltimore-based Cordish Companies has been hired to develop the downtown area around EverBank Field- which will soon be renamed TIAA Bank Field.

New artist renderings show an exciting complex of nightspots, tall buildings, even a new dog park at the stadium. And, those overhead ramps coming off the Hart Bridge are torn down under this plan.

The NFL Draft is this week and the Jaguars have big plans there too. They’ll again be holding a draft party. For the first time it will be held at Daily’s Place and the indoor practice field.

Moveable Feast - Matthew Medure

He’s one of the most famous names in local dining.

With his flagship restaurant Matthews, four M Shack locations, Rue St. Marc, and more delicious ideas in the works!

In Tuesday’’s Moveable Feast, our look at culinary and and hospitality trends across the First Coast, Leigh Cort of the Women’s Food Alliance speaks with renowned First Coast chef Matthew Medure.

The Florida Theatre

It’s a vital part of the changing landscape of downtown Jacksonville. The Florida Theatre, now 91-years-old, is an architectural gem and entertainment destination. Last year 175,000 came downtown to the Florida Theatre.

There were five other theatres on Forsyth Street between Newnan and Hogan in 1926. The Florida Theatre is the only one left.

The annual benefit for The Florida Theatre is May 19. The inside of the Theatre will be transformed into a retro 70’s version of Studio 54 with disco dancing and live performances of the music of Rod Stewart, Elton John and Diana Ross.
