Aaron Zahn has been selected to become JEA's next CEO.

The JEA board selected its next CEO Tuesday but the choice of Aaron Zahn comes with controversy.

Wednesday on First Coast Connect we looked at the selection process, why he was chosen over candidates with more experience and what it could mean for JEA’s future.

Jacksonville Daily Record reporter David Cawton, who has covered the topic extensively, joined us and addressed speculation as to whether it might be a back-door way for Mayor Lenny Curry to revive talks of privatizing JEA at some point in the future.

Going Green: Future Farming

By the year 2050 the world will need to feed 10 billion people, which will mean increasing farming by an estimated 50%.

Angela TenBroeck is the CEO of Jacksonville’s Pura Farms.

She gave us a look at how the area will work toward meeting future challenges, including a trend to move farms closer to the communities they serve, reducing the number of “food miles.”

Jacksonville Helps Panhandle With Toy Drive

As the Pandhandle continues hurricane recovery efforts, there’s a movement to bring some holiday cheer to the area with a toy drive.
