4/22/19: Downtown Development; Matthew Sandusky; Cole Pepper

Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jaguars unveiled new renderings of the proposed Lot J and Shipyards projects Thursday.

The new logo celebrating the Jaguars’ 25th season contains an outline of downtown Jacksonville’s skyline, so it was no surprise when team owner Shad Khan said Thursday at the State of the Franchise that he is eager to get started on adding another piece to the skyline, with an estimated $500 million development next to the stadium.

How do Khan’s ambitious plans factor in to other urban core moves? David Bauerlein, reporter for The Florida Times-Union, joined us now for a closer look.

Matthew Sandusky

Matthew Sandusky

Jerry Sandusky, the former Penn State football coach, is now serving a life sentence for abusing young boys over a period of decades. Matthew Sandusky, one of his adopted children, was one of them.

Matthew is now an author and a speaker, shining a light on how even highly respected members of the community hide behind their position to commit crimes on vulnerable children.

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, and Sandusky will be the keynote speaker here in Jacksonville this week at the Child Abuse Prevention Conference and Luncheon, sponsored by the Exchange Club of Jacksonville. He joined us with more.

Cole Pepper

Cole Pepper joined us with a preview of NFL Draft week.
