Some Florida lawmakers are speaking out against restrictive abortion bans in Alabama and other states. 

The law would ban abortions in almost any circumstance and make providing the procedure a felony. 

Senator Lauren Book, a Democrat from Plantation, FL, joined First Coast Connect with Melissa Ross to discuss steps she's taking to prevent similar legislation from being passed in Florida. 

Texting And Driving Bill

Governor Ron DeSantis signed a bill on Friday to prohibit texting while driving. Starting July 1, police will be allowed to stop and ticket drivers. LocalAttorney Wayne Hogan joined us for a closer look at the new law.

Cole Pepper was in Studio 5 to talk about his interview with three Jacksonville Jaguars, regarding their reaction to Telvin Smith skipping the season. He also dicussed Brooks Koepka, who became the first player to win back-to-back US Opens and back-to-back PGA Championships.
