Roundup Weed Killer

More First Coast residents are filing lawsuits against Monsanto, the makers of Roundup, the world’s most popular weed killer. They claim it caused their non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

At issue: Roundup’s main ingredient, glyphosate, has been linked to cancer. Attorney Chris Shakib of the Terrell Hogan Law Firm, says the company knew glyphosate was likely carcinogenic for decades, but it deceived scientists and the public into believing it’s safe. He’s representing eight consumers who say Roundup gave them cancer.

WJCT partner News 4 Jax, WJXT,will air a special presentation Tuesday at 8 p.m. Titled “96 Hours of Anguish,” the news documentary is a graphic look at the destruction in the Bahamas caused by Hurricane Dorian, which struck the islands starting Sept. 1.
