Mapping Jax, a new local movement sparked by a rush of downtown demolitions, is asking the city to think more creatively about how we build the urban core.

Steve Williams, CEO of Harbinger Sign, Artist and Entrepreneur; Documentary Filmmaker Joe Karablyand Rob Zinn, Architect and Principal at Jacksonville firm Zinn Architecture and Interiors, joined us for a closer look.

Local Author Jennifer Swanson is building a national reputation for her entertaining kids’ books. In August, she was honored by being chosen by the Library of Congress to present at the National Book Festival in Washington, D.C. She joined us with more about her new book, Save the Crash Test Dummies.

The largest children’s literacy program in Jacksonville is hosting a citywide peace and unity luncheon Thursday at TIAA Bank Field. It’s called Peace in the Pages, and it supports READ USA. READ USA Founder Ellen Wiss, along with Actress/Author Sheetal Sheth, joined us with a preview.
