EWC Explores Move To NCAA ; Supporting Veterans; 'A Christmas Carol'; Around Town

Edward Waters College in Jacksonville is in the exploratory stage of potentially moving its athletic program to the NCAA  at the Division Two level. That's as the college prepares to break ground on a  new atheletic facility, at a cost of more than $4 million.

EWC is also looking at proposed legislation that would help students at historically black colleges and universities. The college’s president Zachary Faison stopped by Studio 5 with all the latest news from the college.

Support For Veterans

While the First Coast marks the annual remembrance of Pearl Harbor, support is mounting for veteran suicide prevention and programs for women vets.  Commander William “Rick” Johnson with the American Legion, who represents more than 100 thousand veterans across Florida, joined us with more.

Players By The Sea

The Players By The Sea theatre troupe is putting on a new adaptation of the classic Ebenezer Scrooge story.  A Christmas Carol, which runs December 6 - 22.  Director Suzanne Hudson-Smith gave us a preview of what audience's can expect.
