Supreme Court LGBTQ Rights Ruling; Virtual Summer Camps; Taylor Richardson

Now that the Supreme Court has made clear that companies cannot lay off or discriminate against workers based on their sexual orientation, we looked at what that will mean for Florida.

The nation's higest court made the surprise 6-3 ruling Monday, marking a major victory for the LGBTQ community.

We talked with Jimmy Midyette of Jax Coalition for Equality along with Richard Margulies of Jackson Lewis firm, to discuss their thoughts on the ruling and how it will affect Florida’s LGBTQ protections.

Virtual Summer Camps

Despite the pandemic forcing the cancellation of many activities and events, that isn't stopping the Girl Scouts.

Summer Camp 2020 offers girls the chance to earn badges, a patch, t-shirt and more through a virtual experience.

We were joined by Girl Scouts of Gateway Council’s Tricia Rae Stancato to get a closer look at the different camp activities that can safely be done at home.

Taylor Richardson

Jacksonville teen activist Taylor Richardson has become nationally acclaimed for her constant efforts to advocate for young girls of color, like herself. Taylor is currently using her platform to support the Black Lives Matter movement and local protestors. We talked with Taylor and her mom, Latonja, about her current efforts during the protests along with her dreams and aspirations.
