Bars Shutdown Again; Doctors Request Mask Mandate; Yoga 4 Change Art Show

On Friday, the state once again restricted the sale of alcohol in bars, to help try and slow the spread of coronavirus. That means that many bars, breweries and nightclubs either had to switch back to to-go only service, or shut down altogether again.

        

Hana Ferguson of The Volstead in Downtown Jacksonville and Corey Adams, Co-Owner, Southern Swells Brewery in Jacksonville Beach joined us with more.

Local Doctors Call For Mask Ordinance

This week, a local group of physicians plans to descend on Jacksonville City Hall wearing masks and white coats. They’re going to hand-deliver a letter - which more than 200 local physicians have signed - to Mayor Lenny Curry, asking him to issue a citywide mask ordinance. 

 

They’ll also ask the mayor to downsize the planned part of the Republican National Convention here in August. Their goal: to stop the spread of coronavirus. We discussed it in more detail with Dr. Nancy Staats

Yoga 4 Change Art Show

Yoga 4 Change is hosting its first  ‘Live Virtual Art Show’ Tuesday, June 30, at 7 p.m. The event will be live on the Yoga 4 Change YouTube Channel, and will showcase one piece of artwork from ten local Jacksonville artists.  

Bre Tivvis, Director of Development, Yoga 4 Change; And Artist Ansley Randall of Jax is Rad, joined us with a preview.
