The leader of the Jacksonville City Council has kicked the discussion over the controversial Lot J development into next year.

Council President Tommy Hazouri said Monday on First Coast Connect with Melissa Ross he and his colleagues need more time to study the proposal before taking a vote on it.

The city is looking to spend more than 230 million dollars in taxpayer money and loans to pay for the development next to TIAA Bank Field. It would include live entertainment, bars and restaurants, office space and retail.

LISC Jacksonville

LISC Jacksonville, the Local Initiatives Support Corporation, has announced Irvin “PeDro” Cohen as its new executive director after an extensive search following Janet Owens’ passing earlier this year.

Cohen will lead the organization into a new decade as LISC and its mission becomes more important to the city than ever. He spoke to us about his new role.

Pine Castle Luminaria Kits

The local nonprofit Pine Castle is selling some very affordable luminaria kits right now to benefit the organziation's mission to empower adults with intellectual and developmental differences through opportunities to learn, work, and connect. You can pick the kits up just in time to decorate your walk this season. Pine Castle CEO Lori Ann Whittington joined us with details.
