On December 4, the House of Representatives approved decriminalizing marijuana at the federal level.

The bill, branded as the Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment and Expungement Act, or MORE Act, removes cannabis from the list of federally controlled substances and facilitates canceling low-level federal convictions and arrests related to marijuana. However, the Senate is not expected to pass the bill despite strong public support, according to the Gallup polling agency.

Several Florida cities have passed legislation to decriminalize cannabis. Jacksonville City Councilman Garrett Dennis has introduced such bills. One failed to pass and the other has yet to be heard.

Sally Peebles, a Partner with Vicente Soderberg and a Member of the state’s Medical Marijuana Advisory Committee told us what to expect next.

10 Worst Toys For 2020

The organization World Against Toys Causing Harm Inc. (WATCH) has released its nominees for “10 Worst Toys for 2020.” The list aims to discourage parents from giving the unsafe gifts to children this holiday season.

In 2018 alone, there were 226,100 toy-related injuries in the U.S., according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. We spoke with Wayne Hogan, President of the Terrell Hogan personal injury and wrongful death law firm, about toy safety.
