Councilman Dennis Accuses Mayor Of Corruption; Affordable Housing & COVID

The Lot J deal is no more.  

On Tuesday night, the Jacksonville City Council voted down a proposal to build a major entertainment complex next to the Jaguars stadium.  

Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry reacted to the news on Wednesday, saying personal vendettas against him and his administration are at fault for Lot J.  

Jacksonville City Councilmember Garrett Dennis joined us with more on how the decision was made, and what he thinks should come next, including a call for the mayor's resignation.  

COVID & Affordable Housing

Rent relief is on the way for tens of thousands of unemployed Florida residents. The challenge however, is finding affordable housing for everyone.  Shannon Nazworth, CEO of Ability Housing in Jacksonville explained why.

MLK Jr. Day at the Cummer 

Monday is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens is planning to celebrate Dr. King’s life and legacy with a full day of free in-person and virtual programming.  Wanda Willis, Director of Community Engagement & Inclusion at the Cummer, joined us with details.

White Harvest Farms

Did you know that one of the Clara White Mission’s initiatives is a farm?  It’s named White Harvest Farms, and it is a 10.5-acre urban farm and training center located in the Moncrief Springs neighborhood. White Harvest Farms manager Mallory Scott joined us with details.
