JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS / VIA JACKSONVILLE DAILY RECORD
Jaguars owner Shad Khan has proposed building a Four Seasons hotel at the site of Metropolitan Park as illustrated in this rendering.

How should Jacksonville best develop its underutilized riverfront?

We discussed the issue in more detail with Scenic Jacksonville Director Nancy Powell and St. Johns Riverkeeper Executive Jimmy Orth.  Both are members of Riverfront Parks Now, a growing coalition of 10 civic organizations that is challenging the city’s developers with another vision for the St. Johns River front.

Bryant Academy’s Virtual Reunion

The old  Bryant Academy in Yulee will host a virtual broadcast of its first grand school reunion this Saturday. The grand reunion is part of the efforts by alumni to help capture their school's history before it is lost. Dr. Joanne Mitchell Martin, a Yulee native and Bryant alumnae, and founder of the National Great Blacks in Wax Museum in Baltimore, joined the discussion to express the importance of the virtual reunion.

Aid For Music Venues

At the start of the pandemic, music venues were among the first businesses to shut down. They will most likely also be among the last to reopen. Tom DeGeorge is a member of the National Independent Venues Association Advocacy Committee and Florida's outreach captain. He's also the owner of the Crowbar in Tampa. DeGeorge joined us with more on the efforts to assist venues and the live music industry.
