Shop owners clear debris and water out of their stores on St. George Street on Oct. 8, the morning after Hurricane Matthew brushed the First Coast.

St. Johns County has launched a website where residents can find out when their neighborhood is scheduled for debris removal after Hurricane Matthew.

It’s at SJCFL .US/HurricaneMatthewCleanup.

Last week, the Board of County Commissioners allocated an extra $1 million for debris collection. Public trucks are being joined by Advanced Disposal and Republic Services, for a total of 60 crews tackling the county-wide task.

The Emergency Management division says every home will have an initial debris collection by early November. Crews will make additional passes in the worst-hit areas until the job is complete.

In a news release, the county asked for patience because every corner of the 600-square-mile county was affected by the Category 3 hurricane. It skirted Florida’s East Coast on Oct. 7.
