Jacksonville-based nonprofit Changing Homelessness is asking people to donate their unused storm supplies for the homeless and those displaced by Hurricane Irma.

Michele Querry with Changing Homelessnesssays her organization has been getting a lot of requests from shelters.

"The biggest need we're seeing is bottled water, flashlights, batteries, any non-perishables.  We'll make sure to get to shelters and food banks if need be. But we're just asking for any of those unused supplies.” She added water is “our greatest need at this moment"

Querry says people can bring their donated items to the Changing Homelessness offices at 660 Park Street in Jacksonville's Riverside area.
