Interstate 95's Stockton Street Ramp Closing For A Year

A big change is coming for I-95 southbound motorists coming from the Northside near downtown.

Starting Monday, the Stockton Street ramp will be closed for approximately one year, according to the Florida Department of  Transportation.

Motorists are being advised to detour to the Forest Street exit to Margaret Street which then turns in Edison Avenue.

Other alternatives are taking Interstate 10 westbound and then using the McDuff Avenue exit to Edison Avenue.  Both detours will reconnect to Stockton Street.

Crews will be building new dedicated Stockton and Irene Street ramps

The construction is part of a larger overall project known as Your 10 & 95.

Other construction is scheduled to include the widening of the Fuller Warren Bridge to include a shared use path for pedestrians and bicyclists,  sound barriers going up at various locations and new lighting.

The overall project is anticipated to be completed in the summer of 2020 at a cost of about $126 million.

Additional details are available on FDOT’s your10and95.com website.
